Major building manufacturer Spanbild, and New Zealand’s largest privately owned group home builder Mike Greer Homes have formed a joint venture under the “Concision” brand to manufacture pre-constructed walls, floors and roof panels from a new industrial factory development in the iZone Industrial Park at Rolleston that includes specialist German Weinmann machinery to be used to rapidly construct panels for residential homes and commercial builds around New Zealand.
To protect the multimillion-dollar investment the factory’s concrete slab was designed as “post-tensioned”, to provide a perfectly flat floor with no sawcuts or expansion joints .
The PT floor slab was constructed over 5,800m² set up as one slab 130x45meters that was poured over two consecutive days with a central joint in permanent compression. The slab thickness being 150mm with transitioned thickenings of 200mm to accommodate rebated rails for a trolley crane and embedded conduits for crane posts.
The PT slab is designed for max. 160 kN axle load and 72KN point loads.
