The 2015 New Zealand Concrete Society Concrete Awards were presented at the annual Concrete Industries Conference held in Rotorua from 8-10 October. BBR Contech was pleased to be associated with numerous projects and congratulates the award winners.
The Ferrymead Bridge was entered by Opus International Consultants and received an Infrastructure Award Commendation. BBR Contech was a key supplier in the drilling and grouting associated with the pile construction.
The Monte Craven Architectural Award and Residential Award were won by an entry from Structure Design Ltd for the Hekerua Bay Residence on Waiheke Island. We provided post-tensioning sevices for this project to assist with the architectural form of this stunning residence.
A Technology Award Commendation was presented to Conslab for their world-first hybrid approach to VNA floor construction utilising large post-tensioned slabs. The state-of-the-art JPL Distribution Distribution Centre in Auckland was recognised for combining large post-tensioned slabs, new jointing technlogy to present slab curl, refined design and construction procedures and the introduction of specilaised floor profiing /surveying technology.
A fantastic achievement and one we are proud to be associated with. Stevens Lawson Architects received a Residential Award Commendation for the In-situ House in Remuera. BBR Contech worked closely with Bannan Construction to provide some post-tensioning to address some construction challenges on this house which is built almost entirely from in-situ concrete.
