This new $25.1 million sports facility development combines indoor netball courts, an aquatic Centre and gymnasium into a single ultramodern building. The facility itself is over 8,000m².
BBR Contech supplied both Macalloy 1030 Grade 50mm and 40mm bars which connected the steel rafters to the precast columns. In the stadium hall 72No. of Macalloy 50mm bars were casted into the columns and tensioned to a load of 220kN via a coupled pullrod. In the pool hall 56No. Macalloy 40mm bars were casted into the columns and tensioned to a load of 130kN. All bars are unbonded full length.
The complex is expected to be open in mid 2015
