Christchurch City Council’s upgrade of the existing Little River Water Treatment Plant to comply with the New Zealand Drinking Water Standards included construction of a new 250 cubic metre concrete reservoir.
The Council’s standard 250m³ reservoir is designed by SPIIRE with eight rings of horizontal wall tendons in corrugated plastic duct tensioned through two pilasters.
BBR Contech provided BBR Cona CMI 306 anchorages (3 x 15.2mm strands), antiburst spirals and BBR-VT Plastic Ribbed Duct to the precaster and following erection of wall panels installed, stressed and grouted the tendons.
